Thyroid Cancer and Angiogenesis:
Emerging Concepts in Treatment
Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine cancer. Although some forms of the disease are highly curable, others (radioiodine-resistant differentiated, metastatic medullary, or anaplastic carcinomas) are resistant to available treatments. Over the last 2 decades our understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in thyroid cancer has advanced. This 1-hour continuing education program, developed by a leading expert in thyroid cancer for oncologists, endocrinologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, and pharmacists, reviews the subtypes of thyroid cancer and current approaches to their treatment, emerging concepts concerning the molecular biology of thyroid tumors, and research on new
targeted therapeutics.
