Program
Description
Each
1-hour interactive teleconference includes a short introduction,
a 20- to 25-minute presentation, and a 10- to 15-minute question-and-answer
session with a member of the faculty. Participants are encouraged
to ask questions to ensure a lively discussion.
This Web site contains faculty names and biographies and the teleconference
schedule from November 8 to December 2, 2005. To register, please
follow the instructions found on the registration tab.
Five days prior to your scheduled teleconference you will receive
a continuing education workbook containing information regarding
your participation in the program.

Goal To
provide practitioners with current data and expert commentary
on aldosterone blockade in the management of post-MI heart failure.
Learning
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better
able to:

Describe the role of aldosterone in the pathophysiology of heart
failure.
•
State the results of recent trials involving aldosterone blockers.
• Use
aldosterone blockers safely and effectively in patients
with post-MI heart failure, particularly with regard to
risk factors for hyperkalemia.

to Receive Credit
To qualify for continuing education contact hours
or credits, you must participate for the entire teleconference
and submit the
evaluation form. The estimated time to complete the entire activity
is about 1 hour.
After participation in the program, pharmacists may obtain credit

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of New York Medical College (NYMC) and the Continuing Education Alliance. NYMC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. NYMC designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
